TBR Pile Reading Challenge (2021)

Here’s a suggestion: Instead of always piling books on your TBR (to be read) Pile why not create a DRT (done reading this) Pile this 2021? But first, let me ask… “Would you like to develop your reading habits?”

If yes, then maybe you can join the TBR Pile Reading Challenge. It does not matter if you’re into children’s book, middle grade books, comics or manga or even a novella. It’s also okay to read a mix of fiction and nonfiction within a month. The mechanics is simple. You just need to read at least two or more books per month.

Goal? To read all the unread books you owned. And to prove to yourself if you can build your reading habit again. Another possibility is to dispose (either sell or donate) those books that are not for you.

Starting date is at the beginning of every month (it depends when you saw this blog post). But the first thing you should do is to gather all the books that you haven’t read and count all of them.

Take a photo of those unread books and please do mention me on Instagram so I could know there’s someone else doing this reading challenge.

Use a hashtag #tbrpilereadingchallenge and tag or mention @thethoughtballoons.

Here are the themes you could apply per month.

  • January – Historical Fiction Readathon
  • February – Anything Romance Books Readathon
  • March – Female Authors Readathon
  • April – Male Authors Readathon
  • May – Asian Readathon
  • June – LGBTQ or Pride Month Readathon
  • July – Popular Books Readathon
  • August – Filipino Books Readathon
  • September – Sexy Readathon
  • October – Autumnal Books Readathon
  • November – Paranormal Romance Readathon
  • December – Oldest TBR Books Readathon
